Giving Back
At ZBT – AK, philanthropy is at the heart of who we are. Since 2023, our chapter has proudly raised over $90,000 in support of meaningful causes that reflect the values we stand for. Whether responding to urgent national crises or supporting local initiatives, we are committed to making a tangible difference.
ZBTahiti is our chapter’s largest annual philanthropy event and spring party, held each year at the ZBT house. At the start of the semester, brothers pitch causes they care about and have personal experience with, helping the entire chapter connect with a cause on a deeper level. After hearing all the pitches, the chapter votes to select one organization or initiative to support for the semester. On the day of ZBTahiti, hundreds of UW–Madison students gather for a beach-themed celebration featuring a live performance from a well-known DJ or artist, all while raising tens of thousands of dollars and awareness for a meaningful cause.
Our chapter also plays a major role in Humorology, one of the largest student-run philanthropies in the nation. Each year, ZBT brothers collaborate with other UW–Madison students to write, produce, and perform a full-scale musical variety show. In 2024, Humorology raised over $350,000 for local nonprofits, and we’re proud to contribute our energy, talent, and fundraising power to such a meaningful cause.
Beyond headline events, ZBT – AK maintains a strong culture of giving back throughout the year. Our Philanthropy Chair constantly organizing new fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and service events to support both national organizations and local partners.
Earlier in 2025, when some of our Brother’s had been forced to evacuate their homes when devastating wildfires struck the Palisades region of Southern California, our brothers quickly mobilized to raise $1,000 to aid firefighting efforts and emergency response teams. It was just one example of how we rally around causes that matte, stepping up when our communities need us most.
Whether through major fundraisers or grassroots efforts, our chapter is proud to live out the values of service, generosity, and brotherhood. We’re not just building a stronger fraternity — we’re helping build stronger communities.
